Once per month monitor/track/analyze: your website compared to your competitors for basic measurements such as the Alexa rating, number of indexed pages and number of inbound links. Identify where you need improvement relative to the competition and design a plan to close the gap in a specific area. Add any upcoming marketing events to analytics and chart it. Also chart where web traffic is coming from; overall conversion rate; organic traffic; subscribers; and keyword rank for top ten most important keywords and compare your rank to the competition. To keep your website fresh, it is also a good time to create a new marketing campaign around a new landing page and call to action as well as a new lead nurturing email campaign.
Each week analyze campaign and landing page performance for social media, email and print marketing and review the conversion rates of each. Review the keywords and keyword phrases that visitors are using to find your website. Also note which keyword phrases are bringing in the most qualified leads. Also analyze your blog to determine which posts are returning the most inbound links.
Each day review your news feeds and alerts for relevant industry stories in order to place comments on blog posts. Monitor website traffic volume and where it came from, as well as conversion rates from landing pages. Lastly, try to write a new blog post. If you can't post daily, try to at least twice per week.
